PHASTER

PHASTER is an upgraded version of the PHAST web server that allows for the rapid identification and annotation of prophage sequences in bacterial genomes and plasmids. It includes numerous software improvements and hardware enhancements that make it 4.3x faster than PHAST. PHASTER's web interface has also been entirely rewritten to be more modern, robust, and user-friendly, with a new graphical genome browser and improved visualization tools. PHASTER can process a typical bacterial genome in 3 minutes from raw sequence or 1.5 minutes from a pre-annotated GenBank file. It also includes automated algorithms to reduce database size and redundancy and the ability to perform automated look-ups against 14,000 previously annotated bacterial genomes.
