PMut

PMut is a software tool designed to aid in the prediction of the pathological character of single point amino acid mutations. It achieves this by leveraging the power of neural networks, which have been trained on a vast amount of data to make accurate predictions about the impact of specific mutations. With an impressive success rate of approximately 80% in humans, PMut is a reliable and efficient tool for researchers and clinicians alike.

Beyond its predictive capabilities, PMut also offers a range of other useful features. One of these is the ability to scan for mutational hot spots using three different procedures: alanine scanning, massive mutation, and genetically accessible mutations. These procedures help to uncover regions of proteins that are particularly susceptible to mutations, providing valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of disease.

In addition to these features, PMut also has a graphical interface for Protein Data Bank (PDB) structures. This interface allows users to visualize the impact of specific mutations on protein structures, providing a deeper understanding of their effects. Furthermore, PMut includes a database of hot spot profiles for all non-redundant PDB structures. This database helps researchers to quickly identify regions of proteins that are particularly prone to mutations, enabling them to focus their research efforts more effectively.
