PathwayMatcher

PathwayMatcher is a software tool that enables more precise pathway analysis by considering protein isoforms and posttranslational modifications. It uses a network built from the Reactome knowledge base, which includes interactions between specific proteoforms (protein isoforms with posttranslational modifications). PathwayMatcher accepts various omics data as input and identifies potentially affected biochemical reactions, subnetworks, and pathways.

By accounting for the specific forms of proteins, PathwayMatcher allows for a more granular and specific representation of biological pathways compared to traditional gene-centric approaches. This tool enables researchers to distinguish between interactions involving different isoforms or posttranslationally modified versions of the same protein, leading to more accurate and detailed pathway analysis results.
