Putracer
The software tool 'PUTracer' (Protein Unit Tracer) is a program for the automated assignment of protein domains in structural bioinformatics. It is based on a top-down approach that uses accessible surface area (ASA) and hydrogen bonds energy (HBE) to cut protein chains into contiguous domains with minimal changes in ASA and HBE. The program was evaluated using a benchmark dataset of 124 protein chains and correctly assigned domains in 81.45% of the cases.
