TENET
TENET is a software tool designed to characterize known targets in biochemical networks using network topology features. Traditional methods for characterizing targets based on their molecular characteristics and biological function require extensive experimental study of each protein and are not feasible for larger networks with poorly understood proteins. TENET leverages a support vector machine-based approach to identify predictive topological features and generate a characterization model that quantifies the likelihood of a node being a target. The software has been shown to be effective and superior to state-of-the-art approaches in empirical studies using signaling networks from BioModels with real-world curated outcomes.
