ePIANNO
'ePIANNO' is a web server that has been developed to cater to the growing needs of researchers and assist them in their biological studies. With the development of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and the combination of chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and NGS, known as ChIP-seq, researchers can now capture potential genomic binding sites of regulatory factors, histone modifications, and chromatin-accessible regions. However, for most researchers, additional information such as genomic variations on the TF binding site, the allele frequency of variation between different populations, variation associated disease, and other neighbor TF binding sites are essential to generate a proper hypothesis or a meaningful conclusion.
To help researchers with these needs, the ePIgenomic ANNOtation tool (ePIANNO) has been built. ePIANNO is a web server that combines SNP information of populations (1000 Genomes Project) and gene-disease association information of Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) with ChIP-seq (hmChIP, ENCODE, and ROADMAP epigenomics) data. It has a user-friendly website interface allows researchers to explore, navigate, and extract data quickly.
ePIANNO offers a wide range of functions researchers can utilize to explore helpful information about transcription factor (TF) related genomic variants. Users can use its query functions to search target regions, transcription factors, or annotations. The tool helps researchers to explore potential biological functions for their studies and generate hypotheses.
Additionally, ePIANNO offers two examples to demonstrate how users could use its functions to explore helpful information about TF-related genomic variants. The web server allows researchers to explore and extract data quickly, which makes it an essential tool for researchers dealing with complex data structures and large volumes of data.
