fCI

fCI (f-divergence Cut-out Index) is a novel bioinformatics tool that identifies differentially expressed genes (DEGs) across various 'omics' data types, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and integrated proteogenomic data. The tool can handle both continuous and discrete data and multi-dimensional data such as time courses. fCI fills a gap in the current bioinformatics landscape, as no other tools are available to identify DEGs across different 'omics' data types simultaneously. The tool has been successfully applied to several proteogenomics datasets, identifying genes with distinctive regulation patterns, including those showing functional modulation, developmental changes, or misregulation.
