gazeR

gazeR is an R package to enhance the consistency, replicability, and transparency of preprocessing eye-tracking data, which is a fundamental resource across diverse scientific fields such as vision science, psycholinguistics, marketing, and human-computer interaction. Despite the wide application of eye-tracking, the lack of standardization in preprocessing steps has historically impeded the replicability and reproducibility of research findings.

gazeR offers a comprehensive suite of functions tailored for preprocessing two primary types of eye-tracking data: gaze position and pupil size. For gaze position data, gazeR provides tools for importing raw data, formatting it for analysis, translating gaze coordinates into areas of interest, and performing data binning and aggregation. Similarly, the package includes functionalities for data importation and merging for pupillometry data, removing entries with excessive missing data, artifact removal, blink identification and interpolation, subtractive baseline correction, and data binning and aggregation.
