massPix
massPix is an open-source R package designed for analyzing and interpreting complex multi-dimensional datasets generated from mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) experiments, particularly in lipidomics applications. The software offers a range of features to facilitate the processing and understanding of MSI data.
Key features of massPix include: 1. Generation of single ion images from the MSI data.
2. Multivariate statistical analyses, such as principal components analysis (PCA) and k-means clustering, are performed to classify tissue regions with high spectral similarity.
3. Providing putative lipid annotations by accurately matching the mass of detected compounds against generated lipid libraries.
