miRMOD

miRMOD is a user-friendly software tool developed for the identification and analysis of miRNA modifications in sRNA NGS data. The tool is Windows-based and GUI-based, enabling users with little knowledge of computers to explore miRNA modifications. miRMOD identifies and analyzes 5' and 3' miRNA modifications (non-templated nucleotide additions and trimming) in sRNA NGS data, and also predicts and compares the targets of query and modified miRNAs. In addition, miRMOD utilizes minimum free energies of the miRNA:target and modified-miRNA:target interactions to compare binding affinities for the same target. The package is available as a stand-alone tool and is freely available for use.
