Edena is a tool for de novo genome assembly that is based on overlap layout assembly framework and it is applicable to very short reads from the Illumina platform (e.g. 35 bp). It implements additional features that include exact matching and spurious reads removal. The use of exact matching simplifies and speed up the overlap step.
